Biohazardous Blog

Post by Biohazard on Wed May 28, 2008 3:18 am

Alright, for rants and raves, they are weekly, as in one per week, seven days, so no one misunderstands me, unless a mod or admin has a problem with that. As for news, it comes when I hear it, but will be added every week along with the rants/raves.

Who's really obsessed?
My friend, André says that my other friend, Frank, is obsessed with Halo 3, because he owns it. What André doesn't know is that Frank only bought the game once, for the price of 60.00$, while André rents the game for 10.00$ for a week. He has rented the game over 10 times now! That is fourty dollars more than you would pay to buy the game, but he comes up with excuses like 'My dad said that we can't go to Moncton to buy it.' or 'I don't have enough money.' Maybe if he didn't spend all of his money on renting the game, he would be able to buy it, or he could wait for his family to go to Moncton so he would be able to get it there. My plans are: Buy an Xbox 360 Pro, a wireless controller, Xbox Live membership, and Halo 3, which comes to around almost 600.00$, while André can't buy a game for the tenth of that. That, ladies and gentelmen, is what really grinds my gears. *coughfamilyguyripoffcough* In other news, some tech news.

Bioshock for PS3.
Apparently, Bioshock will be made for the PS3 in the near future. Although this might only aply to those who own a PS3, its still quite 'Shocking'. Get it, Bioshock, shocking...ooooh, tough croud. Anyways, an interview with Bioshock's creator, Jordan Thomas, has lead us to believe what is being said. It should find its way to this next gen console by the holidays of 2008. Another question is 'Will the second Bioshock be released on the 360 and PS3 simultaneously?' The answer is still a mystery. As for all of you who plan to buy the afore mentioned game, must be seventeen or older to play this Mature rated game. Thank you and good night.

Next time on Epic Rants/Raves: Is Halo 3 over-rated, age wise? Don't miss the next episode of Epic Rants/Raves, with some new...uh...news.

The world is getting to ignorant and to incompetant and any other word with the suffix -rant. This is serious madness. I am feeling a bit down, so don't blame me if I get to angry. Tomorrow's rant is still coming, tomorrow morning. Don't miss it.

Here's this week's show.

Now to Epic Phail for the weekly rant.

Is Halo 3 overated, age wise?
My answer to that is yes. The other two games, they be Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, are justly rated by the ESRB game rating company, but I have no idea what they were smoking when they put Halo 3 mature rated. Maybe they are all one of those "Concerned Parents" or some jazz like that, because Halo 3's content is: Mild Language, aiming at Teen, Violence, combined with the last also makes it Teen, Blood and Gore, I saw nothing wrong with it. Maybe it is to intense for 13 year olds, but not Fifteen year olds. If they were to chose between making it Teen, or making an entirly new rating for 15 year olds, they would do the latter, but, restrict a game that has almost no place in the Mature rated family is simply idiotic. If not bring down the rating for this game, then why are games like Destroy All Humans!2 rated Teen, its content is: Crude Humor, Sexual Themes, Strong Language and Violence. Then, for my last example, I've got Twisted Metal: Head-On Extra Twisted Edition. Its content is: Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Mild Language, Mild Suggestive Themes and Violence. Now that proves that Halo 3 is over rated age wise. This concludes this week's rant.

And to Epic Phail...uh, again for the news.

This just in, a new Quake game is in production called Enemy Territory: Quake wars, and unlike its previous games, this one's rated Teen. It will be released on the 360, PS3 and PC.

Here is the link, so you may rview the...um, review yourself: http://www.cheatcc.com/xbox360/rev/enemyterritoryquakewarsreview.html
Just copy and paste it the the browser and, thats about it.

Next time on ERRNP (See, I can do that too), Platform wars, which is better, PS3 or 360. Until next time.

Well, not much school left. I hope I'm exempted from my math exam, apart from that, the stories are coming along slowly, so don't rush me (even though nobody has, yet).

Now time for my weekly rant.

Console wars, PS3 vs 360.
I've asked six people, and three of them are for PS3, the other three, for 360. The 360 might have its advantages with more games, three types of consoles and a ton of memory, but don't count out the cheaply priced PS3. First off, all the components in the PS3 would bring its price to over 1,500$, and it costs only over 600$, less than half. Although the PS3 only has but a few games since its release, it does have GTA4, the mature rated game that is also on the 360. Plus the PS3 can also use blu-ray discs as well as normal DVD discs. With its enhanced features, extended memory banks and better color (The previous statement is to couter the 360 Arcade and Pro, not the Elite.) all it needs are new games and will become more popular than the 360, if not equal in popularity. The PS3 also has free onlineplay, as opposed to the 360's 50$ a year. So next time think, even though the PS3 is new, that doesn't mean its crap. I myself am aiming for a 360, not a PS3. Thank you for your time.

Now for the news.
Lucasarts lays off over a hundred workers, shortly after te release of the Lego Indiana Jones game. Apparently, 80% of workers lost their jobs, and the company is planning to outsource work overseas, to other countries. The departements struck the most with lay offs are in the Prodution Services. Although Lucasarts has not anouced anything of the sort, but the infrmation came from the former workers of Lucasarts themselves.

I'm leaving tomorrow and I won't be back until Sunday (read about it in my deviantART journal), so don't screw anything up while I'm gone, okay?
